With respect to the 28ga, be patient and look around. Every so often an AYA or an Ugartechea pops up for a reasonable price. Bernardelli's too.

If the gun you have is one of the Beretta-made Dalys--and the year code does fit--it will have a vent rib, pistol grip, single nonselective trigger, and plain extractors. Except for the vent rib, it does look quite a bit like a GR-3.

L. Brown, my gun does have these features, with the rib being low, ventilated, and concave on top. At a quick glance, its hard to tell that it is vented. The stock has a black plastic buttplate marked CD and black plastic grip cap. Fore-end removal is accomplished by pushing a piece that looks like a small wheel set in the center of said forward (probably should have included all this in my first post). Its a very nice and seemingly well-made gun, but just sits in the safe unused, and I think a 28 sxs would see a lot more sunshine... Again, any and all info is greatly appreciated.

That type of forend latch is another rather unique feature of those guns. You definitely have a Beretta-made Charles Daly.

L.Brown, thanks for verifying; I was told years ago that it was "probably" made by Beretta, nice to finally know for sure. nca225, I have already looked at those myself--if only one of them had a Prince of Wales or pistol grip stock...

Im miserable with a straight stock too. For me they are very hard to find with a POW grip and 15 1/2 LOP.
