I bet the stock is Red! Most all his were.
He definitely was a great one.. my fondest memory was shooting BP sxs at the Memphis club with him, Ed Mason, Larry Talley and some others around 1990.

Rick, did you ever shoot with Charlie Lindsey at the Memphis club? He used to shoot with Highsmith and Mason, I've heard him mention the names.

The name is very familiar, if he was from Arkansas- then yes I recall shooting with him - at Friendship as well. I believe he was small in stature as well?
Otherwise, I’m at a loss as it’s been many years..

I re-added the photos to the listing. This wood isn't alkanet root red. The gun has large sling swivel eyes for sling hooks or tie-on slings.

Charlie was indeed from Arkansas, about 40 minutes across the river from Memphis, at Caldwell. Small in stature, but large in presence. He and his family owned much land along the L' Anguille River near Forrest City, where they grew cotton and rice. I met him in the '90s at a m/l match in SC and we became instant friends. He invited me to meet his nephew who hunted ducks in the L' Anguille River bottoms. I've been hunting with the family there, and they've been coming here to hunt turkeys, ever since....... 25+ years. Just this past March Charlie's great nephew killed a big gobbler on one of my places here in GA. Small world.

Very nice rifle, the Ruger. Good luck with the sale.
