OWD,

The Greener is 36449, from 1894. It is 30" nitro damascus, F/F, POW grip, stunning wood and freshly rebrowned. It came with the original case including a very rare G-gun cocking tool, turn screws and Greener snap caps. Sadly the case interior has fallen apart, but the goodies were all still amongst the bits.

The G-gun is an odd beast. After firing the gun the ejectors kick out the shells on opening. You have to be mindful to continuing to open the gun a little more so the gun can cock. If you don't open the gun enough to cock the hammers, IT WILL NOT CLOSE. Forcing it to close breaks it and means an expensive trip to Graham Greener to set right.

Don Amos was spinning guns at the Southern SxS April 2009. There were 3 G guns in the que. We compared guns and it was easy to spot the variations on the same action pattern.

My gun is a lower grade G. Nigel Brown's book lists a wide range of grades. I haven't sent for the history from Graham yet.
