james-l Sidelock Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,274 Likes: 1 California	I still think it is an intercepting device to prevent the gun from firing if the sears fail,. When the gun is fired normally the sear is lifted up and the hook clears the pin, if it fails for some reason the hook catches on the pin and prevents the hammer from falling forward. I learn something every day, and a lot of times it's that what I learned the day before was wrong
