I appreciate your replies and advice, but I think I will go looking for a used Browning Superposed. I had one I bought the day after I came back from Vietnam in 1970. SN 69172, made in 1970. I know they are out there and available. Don't have to worry about getting one serviced. I know about the five years that Browning used salt cured wood on their guns. I saw two guns listed on Guns International that caught my eye. One is a Rottweil 72ATT Combo, two barrels (one single and one over and under), adjustable stock, and small crack behind trigger guard. The price is $1495.00. Cabela's Richfield has it for sale. GI Listing 100535509 and Lister 4381584. The other one is a Franchi Model 2005 2 barrel combo set. Gun was manufactured in 1977. Comes with a fitted case and is offered by Artmeis Outfitters, Wilmington, Del. GI Listing is 100534781 and Lister E802. Price is the same. Any thoughts? once again, many thanks for your feedback.
