In 1962 I bought a Model 70 Winchester Featherweight in .243 Win. caliber. It was my favorite for years and brought down many white tails. Nearly every kill was a one shot kill. I shot them through the chest. They would run 50 yards or less before bleeding out. About 10 years ago I wanted more challenge so started hunting with a .30-'06 1903 Springfield NRA sporter using iron sights. Killed 3 or 4 bucks with it until Rock Mtn Bill sold me another NRA Sporter on which he had slimmed and checkered the stock. It is now my deer rifle but have lost interest in hunting so it now resides in the safe.
