I'd have two, I think, reasonable questions. First, did paying cash move him ahead of Canadians who're subject to a waiting list? And second, are the amenities costing medical services and supplies? There're Americans who risk life and limb to save a buck or two in Mexican health clinics, I think your buddy chose wisely for his situation.


Craig, the Shouldice family are close friends. In fact just saw them all in mid September, celebrating a birthday. Its a private, for profit hospital, grandfathered into the system because at the time it was the worlds leading hernia specialist. They are told by the government how much they can charge for Canadian patients and charge what they want for anyone else. Doubtful cash took him to the front of the line. Theyre just damn good. And Gils friend isnt the only one who has compared it to a hotel. They get many patients asking if they can come back.
