Trigger time and running a chain saw are two of my favorite forms of therapy. It's the last weekend for turkey here, and even though the birds appear to have left the property when I was there opening weekend, I loaded up the thrower and two long guns and headed West. Neither saw nor heard any turkey, so spent a lot of time working on my shotgunning, identifying and rectifying some deeply ingrained bad habits. Shot pretty well.

Beautiful wildflowers, been lots of rain lately

Also tried out the recently acquired Beretta- appears to have been an unfired drill piece: some pretty good dings in the stock and a butt pad that looks like it has been set smartly down on the parade ground more than once, but overall excellent metal/mechanical. Once it was sited in, rang the metal plates at 200 and 300 yds consistently from the bench yesterday, then rang the 14" square metal plate at 200 off hand. A sling will help.

First trip out to the property without Cocoa- lots of firsts this last week.
A whole new reality to digest.
