I recently bought a Savage 99 in 300 stocked by G&H. Then I learned ammo and brass aren't all that easy to come by. I paid $40 for a box of Remington ammo and found out my "new" rifle shot really well. I've had great results with Lapua products and got 50 rounds of their brass in 308. Trimming was a problem for me. I locked my Wilson case trimmer in the milling machine vice, unscrewed the crank handle, and chucked the cutter. It took 10 minutes to trim 50 cases and another 10 to run them through a Savage die. Neck thickness was not an issue though they were.005 thicker than factory Rem cases. The Lapua cases are 20 grs heavier than factory, and so loading needs to start on the lower end. Perhaps this will be of use to someone.
