RIP. David Trevallion knew him at Purdey's before David left for Chicago and Robert for NZ. He said that unlike the other's at Purdey at the time, Robert was well-educated and took some heat at the shop due to Brit class-consciousness. I have documented a Reilly SN 35292 made in 1901 but rebarrelled by Robert - the ad says it may have been Robert's personal gun. Sad news. Not may left.
